We recommend that you test your Salesforce connector after setup. Completing a few tests ensures that the connector is syncing in the way you expect.

Testing for Accounts that do not Allow Multiple Prospects with the Same Email Address

1) New Pardot Prospect / Existing Salesforce Record

Create a new prospect record in Pardot that already exists in your CRM. Click 'Synchronize with CRM' to see if that record then syncs, or wait 10-15 minutes to see if the connector initiates the sync.

2) New Pardot Prospect / New Salesforce Record

Create a prospect record in Pardot with an email address of a Salesforce record that does not exist. Add a new record in Salesforce with the same email address. Click 'Synchronize with CRM' to see if that record syncs, or wait 10-15 minutes to see if the connector initiates the sync.

3) Assigning Prospects In Pardot

Create a prospect in Pardot with an email address that does not already exist in Salesforce and assign the prospect to a user. Check to see if this record is then created in Salesforce.

4) Automatic Pardot Prospect Created From New CRM Record

If you have the 'Automatically create prospects in Pardot if they are created as a Lead or Contact', create a new Salesforce record with an email address that does not exist in Pardot. Check to see if the record gets created in Pardot.
