||If applicable. This field will sync the field with a field other than the automatic default mapping. Some fields cannot be remapped (ex: Score, Grade, Pardot Campaign, Assigned User, Email, etc.). |Keep this field's type and possible values (for drop-downs, radio buttons, checkboxes) in sync with the CRM
||This option is only available for Salesforce. Enable this option if you'd like changes to the type and values for your CRM field to be synced to Pardot. The values will be pulled in from your CRM. You can uncheck any values that you do not want to be included in Pardot.
||If you're using Salesforce, this option controls your field's sync behavior. See Syncing Propsect Field Values with Salesforce for full details and instructions.
|Overwrite value in CRM
||Note that the CRM value is the master by default. You can enable this option if you would like the data in Pardot to overwrite the data (be the master) for the corresponding field in your CRM in the event of a conflict. This option is not available for some fields (ex: Score, Grade, Pardot Campaign, Assigned User, Email, etc.). See our default mapping articles on Salesforce, SugarCRM, NetSuite, and Microsoft Dynamics for more details. Note: In the event that a value in Pardot or in the CRM is blank or empty, the system with any value for the field will overwrite the blank value in the connected system by default. For example, if there's a field in Pardot that's not set to "Overwrite value in CRM" and the value is blank in your CRM but there's a value in Pardot, the value from Pardot will sync over and overwrite the blank value in your CRM. You can use automation rules in Pardot to clear values for fields and prevent Pardot data from syncing up to fill blank values in your CRM.
|Set a default mail merge value to be used when this field does not have a value:
|| This is useful when pulling in variable tags into email templates. For example, you could use something like "Valued Customer" for First Name in case a prospect does not have a First Name in their Pardot record.
|Use pre-defined values (for radio buttons and dropdowns):
||Select this option to have prospects select from a list of items. A list will appear where you can enter the values, using the [+] or Trashcan icon to add and delete values. Clicking the A icon lets you enter a different label to display in your forms, while the value will display on your prospects' records. You can also select a Pardot list for the pre-defined values so that prospects who select the field value will be added to the appropriate list. See this article for more details. To view the other ways to take actions on prospects based on values in fields, visit our Prospect Actions article. Note: If you update your field later, add new values using the [+] button. Do not change old values to new ones. Changing values without deleting or adding will cause the field value to be overwritten in the prospect record and may affect automation rules in place.
|Validate on Import
||This setting compares propect field values against the field's predefined values, and imports only prospects with acceptable values. Note: this setting is only available when Use pre-defined values is enabled on a field.
