Setting up B2B Marketing Analytics has two main components: Salesforce setup and Pardot setup. This article walks through basic setup, and is intended for your Salesforce admin and Pardot admin.

Before you begin: B2B Marketing Analytics requires a verified Salesforce Connector.

Salesforce Setup

Enabling Einstein Analytics

If Einstein Analytics is not enabled for your Salesforce org, have an admin enable it.

  1. In the Salesforce Setup menu, under Administration, click Analytics | Getting Started.
  2. Click Enable Analytics.

Assigning the Analytics Embedded App Permission Set License

Have a Salesforce admin assign the Analytics Embedded App Permission Set License to all of your org's Einstein Analytics users who need access to B2B Marketing Analytics.

Creating and Assigning the Manage Analytics Permission Set

A Salesforce admin that can manage Permission Sets must create and assign the Manage Analytics permission set to the Salesforce connector user. This permission set lets Pardot push data into Einstein Analytics via the API, and lets you connect to external and third-party data sources.

Note: Although the Salesforce connector user requires the Manage Analytics permission set, this user will not count toward the 5 users that are provided with B2B Marketing Analytics subscription.

First, create the permission set:

  1. In Salesforce, navigate to Setup > Manage Users > Permission Sets, and then click New.
  2. Enter Manage Analytics in the Label field. This automatically creates the API name, which can be changed if desired. Note that the API name can't include spaces, end with an underscore, or have two consecutive underscores.
  3. In the User License field, keep the default value --None--. Do not select a user license.
  4. Click Save. The permission set details page shows the new permission set.
  5. Scroll to the bottom of the permission set details page, and click System Permissions, then click Edit.
  6. Select Manage Analytics user permissions and click Save.

You've created a permission set that enables a user to access all Einstein Analytics features. Because this permission set provides access to all features, we recommend only assigning it to the Pardot/Salesforce connector user.

Assign the permission set to the connector user:

  1. In Salesforce, navigate to Setup > Administer > Manage Users > Permissions Sets.
  2. Select the Manage Analytics permission set.
  3. Click Manage Assignments, then click Add Assignments.
  4. Select the connector user, then click Done. To find your connector user, log in to Pardot and navigate to Admin > Connectors. Check the Username column for the Salesforce connector — this is your connector user.

Creating and Assigning the Use Einstein Analytics Permission Set

A Salesforce admin that can manage Permission Sets must create and assign the Use Analytics permission set to all users that need access to Einstein Analytics. This permission set allows users to access Einstein Analytics.

First, create the permission set:

  1. In Salesforce, navigate to Setup > Manage Users > Permission Sets, and then click New.
  2. Enter Use Analytics in the Label field.
  6. Select "Use Analytics" user permissions and click Save.

You've created a permission set that enables a user to access basic Einstein Analytics features. We recommend assigning this permission set to all users who need access to Einstein Analytics.

Assign the permission set to users who need access to Einstein Analytics:

  1. In Salesforce, navigate to Setup > Administer > Manage Users > Permissions Sets.
  2. Select the Use Analytics permission set.
  3. Click Manage Assignments, then click Add Assignments.
  4. Select the users who need access to Einstein Analytics, and then click Done.
  5. Pardot Setup

Set the Fiscal Year Start Month

In Pardot, hover over the gear icon () in the top right of any screen, then navigate to Settings > Edit Account . Scroll to the Salesforce Einstein Analytics section, and select your organization's fiscal start month from the drop down.

    Starting the Provisioning Process

Once Salesforce setup is complete, a Pardot admin should navigate to Reports > B2B Marketing Analytics and click Yes! Activate B2B Marketing Analytics. You will receive an email once provisioning is complete and the app is ready to use.
