Form Fields Overview

Form fields are data fields you use in your forms and landing pages to gather information. They can be a variety of types (text, checkbox, etc.) and are tied to either default fields or custom fields. Values entered into these fields can later be used to trigger automation rules and can generally also be synced with your connected CRM system if applicable. Before adding a field to a form, you must create a corresponding prospect field, or use a default field. Some default fields come standard in all Pardot accounts and can be added to any Pardot form. Please note that the email address field is always required on Pardot forms.

Globally Configuring Form Fields

If you need to globally change the field type, predefined values (for radio buttons, dropdowns, etc.) or default mail merge value, please refer to our helpful article on Default Fields. If there are additional fields that you want to appear on your forms and to record data on prospect records, you can add Custom Fields to Pardot. Configuring Form Fields per Form

In addition to globally editing your custom and default fields, you can tailor them on individual forms in the Form Wizard. You might choose to edit fields per form for a few reasons like customizing a form’s field labels for a seasonal campaign, adding dependent fields for a specific form, and setting up progressive profiling.
