Prospect Record Overview

Last Updated: Jun 14, 2016 | Print this Article

Accessing a prospect's record is a useful way to view and edit information at the individual level. This article will break down each part of the record.

To access a prospect record, navigate to Prospects > Prospect List, then click the prospect's name to view the record.
Here's our prospect record:

Notice the tabbed navigation at the top of the record.

Overview

This is the default tab. Above the tabs, you'll find several links.

  • Edit Prospect allows you to change the record.
  • Synchronize with CRM forces a sync with your CRM if you have your CRM connector verified.
  • Assign prospect to user
  • Social Data will display the social data available for the prospect. This is available at Pro Edition and Ultimate Edition account levels. This feature is also available as an add-in for Standard Edition accounts.
    • Note: If a prospect has not yet been looked up or if FullContact did not return any social data for the record, the link will be inactive (grayed out). For clarification, hover your cursor over the inactive link for a status update where you may see a message like “Could not find any social data“. If the Social Data link is active but you do not see any additional social media icons, it is likely that Pardot only found the LinkedIn profile. In that case, LinkedIn will point directly to the prospect’s LinkedIn profile rather than simply doing a search in LinkedIn by first and last name.
  • Delete the prospect from Pardot (will be moved to the Recycle Bin).

Contents

This area displays basic information such as name, email, organization, account, and first touch campaign (how the prospect first came into contact with Pardot).
  • Notice the icons next to the name and organization fields. These icons allow you to pull in more information about the prospect from LinkedIn and Data.com, follow any social media the prospect is engaged in, as well as star the prospect, or if you are using Salesforce, to view them in your CRM. For more information, please visit our icon glossary article.
  • If a prospect "converts" on a form, meaning if an anonymous visitor to your site submits a form and becomes a prospect, the "conversion point (the name of the form)" and "conversion date" will be displayed in this table.
  • Clicking the prospect email address will let you send a one-to-one email to the prospect. See this article for more.

More Features

But wait there's more. Additional navigation can be found on the top navigation bar. Under the Prospects bar, you should now see the name of your prospect, under which you have more options.

  • Activities - View all interaction a prospect has had with your content. This includes activities the prospect had while still a visitor (someone on your site who has not converted). An icon, a description of the activity, type, score associated with the activity, and the date of the activity are all listed in this table. For a list of icons and activity descriptions for prospect activities, visit our article on prospect activity icons.
    • You have the option to filter by type.
    • Display more or hide results with the options on the bottom of the table.
  • Audits:  Audits display a table of all actions and information which changed in regards to the prospect record. For example if a prospect was assigned to a user manually by another user, you will be able to view who made this change.
  • Emails: View all emails a prospect has received.
  • Lifecycle: View the dates that the prospect entered and exited each lifecycle stage.
  • Opportunities: Take a gander at all Salesforce and SugarCRM opportunities the prospect is associated with. Currently we can only sync opportunities with Salesforce and SugarCRM via the CRM connector. Note: Once the connector is established between Pardot and Salesforce, we will retroactively bring in all old opportunities. You may see numerous prospects with higher/lower scores soon after creating the connector.
  • Salesforce Campaigns: See all Salesforce Campaigns a prospect is associated with.
  • Searches: Look at all search queries on your site, your paid search, and natural search by the prospect.
  • Visits: Look at the duration, number of page views, and time of first and last page view for each prospect.
