Creating Prospects Manually

Follow the steps below to create a new prospect manually in Pardot:

  1. Navigate to Prospects > Prospect List.
  2. Click + Add Prospect.
  3. Enter an Email Address†, select a Campaign to tag the prospect with (their first touch point), and a Profile to associate them with (for grading).
    • You can also enter values for First and Last Name, Company, and the other available default and custom fields, assign the prospect to a user, as well as add the prospect to lists.
    • Note: If you assign the prospect to a user and have a verified CRM connector (for Salesforce, SugarCRM, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics CRM), they will then be pushed to the CRM as a new record. See When are leads synced with my CRM? for more details.
  4. Click Create prospect.
Administrator users can also import prospects through a .csv file.

† If your account does not allow multiple prospects with the same email address, the email address must be unique.
