If you want to use your Gmail signature with Engage email templates, enable the Preserve Gmail Signature setting. In Chrome, navigate to: Extensions > Engage for Gmail > Options >  and mark Preserve Gmail Signature.

Notes

  • Emails sent with Engage for Gmail are sent through Google's email servers — not Pardot's.
  • If you have the Sync plugin emails setting enabled on your connector, Engage for Gmail emails will get logged to the lead or contact activity history with "Engage Gmail Email" prepended to the subject.
  • If you have multiple prospects with the same email address, you will be prompted to select which Salesforce record you want to track the email on.
  • If you use other Gmail extensions, you may need to minimize them to use the Engage for Gmail side panel, and vice versa.
  • Your Engage for Gmail session will last as long your Salesforce sessions are set to persist in your Salesforce org's settings.
  • If your account allows multiple prospects with the same email address: When you send an Engage email to a recipient, and there isn't already a prospect with that email address, Pardot will create a prospect and assign it to the user logged into Engage for Gmail. Assigning the prospect triggers a sync to Salesforce, and if there isn't already a lead or contact with that email address in Salesforce, a lead will be created.
  • If your account allows multiple prospects with the same email address: When you send an Engage email to a recipient, and there isn't an existing lead or contact with that email address in Salesforce, you will be prompted to create a new lead or contact. The new record will get synced down to Pardot, and a new prospect will be created.
  • If you have multiple prospects with the same email address, you will be prompted to select which Salesforce record you want to track the email on.
  • The Engage for Gmail side panel is not compatible with the Right Side Chat Gmail Lab. If you want to continue using the Lab and the Engage for Gmail, you'll need to minimize the Engage side panel using the toggle at the top.
  • This extension will overwrite all pasted links with our own tracked link url, and insert an open tracker into the email body content.
  • You can only send to one recipient at a time.
  • Email opens and clicks are tracked in Pardot.
  • You won't be able to select a template until you've entered the recipient email address.
  • Variable tags included with a template will populate. Variable tags that are added in Gmail will not populate. Note that Engage for Gmail supports only variable tags based on prospect fields. Variable tags based on account fields will not populate.
