Subject: Getting blank value in dropdown box to be rejected

In another recent post, you suggested the following:

"You can remove the "Please Select" and make it a blank. If this occurs, the prospect will not be able to select a blank if it is a required field."

I just tried doing this with a dropdown field I created, and despite the field being set to Required and the first value in the list being blank, I was still able to submit the form with the blank value selected.

Is this a bug?

(the custom field in our DB is 'purchasing process' in case you want to take a look at the specifics)
